Our Story
Spice skill from grandmother to daughter
Gurwinder Kaur, nickname Guri, has been always passionate about cooking since she was very young. She was extremely close to her grandmother, who was also an excellent cook, Guri learned all her cooking skills from her. Both would enjoy mixing and matching variety of herbs and spices to make new seasonings and trying with various Punjabi meals.

That’s where Guri developed her skills of creating brand new spices and seasonings. Even though Guri possessed such an amazing skill she never thought of making it into a business. However, she always kept mentioning that one day she would like to open her own restaurant, where other people can also enjoy her cooking.
2008-2015
In 2008, Gurwinder moved from India to Australia and began the typical immigrant journey of getting citizenship and settling down. After a lot of hard work and perseverance, Gurwinder finally managed to attain her citizenship in 2015.
2015-2022
During this time there were 2 goals that Gurwinder badly wanted to achieve, first was buying her own house and second goal was enlisting into Australian Defence Forces. With god’s grace she bought her house in 2016 and got into Air Force in 2018.
2022
This year Guri gotten a severe injury while deployed at Air Force and hence she had to stay home to recover. Because she had free time on her hands, her son really wanted her to pursue a home endeavour of spices, because he knew she had a gift for it and now that she’s home, she also had time as well. Hence both got together and started this small endeavour. Hopefully people out there try the Guri Spices and see the quality that Guri’s friends and family saw in her.
